Trueself Counselling

About Jessa – Founder of Trueself Counselling

Hi, I’m Jessa — the heart behind Trueself Counselling. I offer individual and couples therapy rooted in compassion, honesty, and a deep respect for your story. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are, and where healing and growth happen at your pace.

Before becoming a counsellor, I was deeply involved in mental health advocacy and community-based work. Those experiences shaped my passion for helping people navigate life’s messiness with more clarity, resilience, and self-connection.

In our work together, I’ll draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, but more importantly, I’ll meet you with care, curiosity, and no judgment. Whether you’re facing anxiety, relationship challenges, identity questions, or just feeling stuck, we’ll explore it together — and find tools that genuinely support you.

I’m a Registered Professional Counsellor and also serve as a Designated Representative with the Immigration and Refugee Board. I’m committed to ongoing learning to provide the best care I can.

When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me outside by the water, paddleboarding, cooking up something new, or deep into a podcast.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Whether we connect online or in person, I’m here to support you in finding your way back to yourself.

My Services

I offer supportive, evidence-based counselling for individuals, couples, youth, and parents. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, identity, or family dynamics, you’re not alone—and support is here.

Some of the approaches I use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), always tailored to what feels most helpful for you.

I also offer specialized support for youth, as well as parenting coaching for caregivers of children and teens—because parenting doesn’t come with a manual, and it’s okay to ask for guidance.

You can work with me in the way that fits your life best—online from anywhere or in person at my centrally located office.

Wherever you’re at, we’ll meet there—and move forward together.

Counselling Approach

I believe that real healing begins in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and safe. My approach to individual therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment.

Whether you’re working through anxiety, self-doubt, relationship struggles, or just feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to walk alongside you—at your pace, with care and curiosity.

As a Registered Professional Counsellor and mental health worker, I’m deeply committed to supporting you in navigating life’s challenges while building the tools you need to grow and thrive.

You can choose what works best for you—virtual sessions from the comfort of home or in-person sessions in a welcoming, centrally located space.
